On the 1st of September Ulyanovsk State Technical University celebrated the beginning of the new academic year. Aleksey Russkikh, the Governor of the Ulyanovsk region,  attended the ceremonial events at the university.

The first-year students of UlSTU celebrated the beginning of the new academic year  in their new status. In 2022, 1,128 students were enrolled for state-funded places. The geography of the regions from which applicants came is extensive, from Kaliningrad to Sakhalin. The Republics of Tyva, Komi, Murmansk, and Tambov regions are possible to  single out. The leaders in the number of applicants are the neighboring regions: Tatarstan, Samara region, and Chuvashia.

"Knowledge is the beginning of everything. Congratulations to all first-year students who have become students of the region's leading engineering university. You have great things ahead of you. However, you need to constantly work on yourselves, because without willpower and work it is impossible to achieve results. I am sure that we will move in this direction together. New classrooms, laboratories, a center of science technology and culture, sports infrastructure are at your disposal in the university. In Ulyanovsk State Technical University you can develop in many different directions: in science, culture and sports" -  Nadezhda Yarushkina the Rector of UlSTU  said in her solemn speech.

"To be honest, I have sympathy and the warmest feelings for students of technical specialties. Maybe this is due to the fact that I am a technician by education, or maybe because engineers, scientists, inventors are special people who move history, science and technology forward. Your admission to UlSTU is a very wise decision. Over the years you will have to pass many tests, to master the most difficult sciences, to become true professionals, to earn the right to be called a graduate of the fameful Ulyanovsk State Technical University " - Aleksey Russkikh, the Governor of the Ulyanovsk region said.

Aleksey Russkikh  the Governor of the Ulyanovsk region gave an open lecture for UlSTU students. The Governor paid attention to the prospects of the region, focused on the development of enterprises and the demand for technical specialists. According to the speech of Aleksey Russkikh, Ulyanovsk region is ready to provide places for IT specialists, builders and architects, engineers, power engineers and employees of the machine, auto, machine, aircraft industry.

"Ulyanovsk region today is a region with a developed industrial potential, in the structure of which a significant place belongs to high-tech industries. You, as future graduates of relevant specialties, ready for self-development and new competencies, will be able to respond to ultrafast changes in the surrounding economic space" - noted Aleksey Russkikh.
